On Garrett's compressor maps there are also numbers on the horizontal lines which correspond to the turbo wheel rpm. I was particularly thinking of a comparison between the gt2860rs and the gt2871r-743347-1 which is the 2871 with 48 trim. This map is very similar to the gt2860rs with the exception that the compressor wheel only has to spin at roughly 60 to 70% the speed to make the same airflow/pressure ratio. Will this help turbo response or will the larger wheel cancel out this effect by having a larger moment of inertia?
